Spending

On 1st May 2020, Tyndale Community School transferred to Oxford Diocesan Schools Trust. Click on this link to view the Funding Agreement with the government.

Tyndale Community School, like any other school, receives its income primarily through government funding. The funding we receive is based on the number of pupils on roll on census day which is in October. We also receive pupil premium funding and sports funding, which are allocated with specific purposes and we are accountable for how we spend the money.

Despite the income which schools receive, we are all faced with the challenge of balancing limited finances with ensuring we provide the best quality of education for our children. Therefore, we regularly find other ways of increasing our income, such as any profit from wraparound care and hiring out our premises.

Pupil Premium

The pupil premium grant is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England. It’s a school-level grant that gives schools extra resources to help them meet challenges, including those arising from deprivation.

It’s allocated for schools to:

  • improve the academic outcomes of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities
  • close the attainment gap between disadvantaged pupils and their peers across the country

You can find further information about the pupil premium in Pupil Premium Frequently Asked Questions.

Sports Funding

Our school uses the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of physical education (PE), physical activity and sport we offer.

This means that we use the premium to:

  • develop or add to the PE, physical activity and sport activities that your school already offers
  • build capacity and capability within the school to ensure that improvements made now will benefit pupils joining the school in future years

Annual Accounts

Tyndale Community School belongs to a multi-academy trust called Oxford Diocesan Schools Trust. We publish our Annual Accounts in line with the requirements of the Academies Financial Handbook.
