In Year Transfers

We currently have spaces available in each year group across the school for in-year admissions. As an academy, we are able to process our own school admissions (apart from Reception September admissions which are centrally allocated through Oxfordshire County Council).

Please complete the form under 'Admissions Process' to contact the school admissions team and book a tour for your family or request application forms.

For in year transfers, the school will aim to respond within 15 school days with an offer of a place.

Admissions Process

For all admissions enquiries please contact our Admissions team by emailing admissions@tyndalecommunityschool.co.uk or completing the form above.

If you would like to visit the school, please fill out and submit the form below.

We are a two form entry school, with each year group having a maximum of 60 children split between two classes.

We are part of the Oxfordshire Local Authority’s co-ordinated admission arrangements.

Applications for Reception Places for September 2025/2026

Please see admissions policy here.

Tyndale Community School has 60 places for children in Reception classes each September for children who turn 5 during the subsequent academic year. For places starting in September 2024, applications open in November 2023 for children born on or between 1st September 2019 and 31st August 2020. The deadline for receipt of applications is 15th January 2024. It is important that you make an application by this deadline, but applications are not determined on a first come first served basis.

If you would like to visit the school before making your choices, please submit a School Visit Request Form by clicking the link above.

We are part of the Oxfordshire Local Authority’s co-ordinated admission arrangements and applications for places should be made on the Local Authority Common Application Form, either online or on paper. The Local Authority website contains details of how to apply.

Please see below for how to make a faith-based application.

Registering Interest

If you have a child who will start school in later years we would love to keep you informed of future events such as open days and family fun mornings.

Please email admissions@tyndalecommuityschool.co.uk for more information

Faith-based Places

Up to 30% of places may be allocated on the basis of the Christian faith. If you wish to apply for a faith-based place there are two supplementary forms to fill in and return to the school. The first (Form A) must be filled in by you, and the second (Form B) must be filled in by your church leader. Please note that if you wish to apply for a faith-based place these forms are required in addition to applying for a place via the Oxfordshire Local Authority’s co-ordinated admission arrangements as detailed above. Please send completed forms by post: Office Manager, Tyndale Community School, William Morris Close, Oxford, OX4 2JX.

Transition Arrangements

We normally put in place a programme of visits before a child starts with us at Tyndale Community School. This will include a visit with parents or carers and a visit to spend time with the new teacher and their class. It may also include a home visit. In some cases where a child is moving from abroad or has additional emotional or learning needs, we may consider a reduced timetable for a short period. This must be authorised by the Principal and the Local Authority must be informed. If a place is offered, Tyndale Community School will be in touch with your child’s current school or preschool setting and information will be passed on from them according to GDPR/Data Protection regulations. If a child is transferring in during the course of the school year, we will arrange a start date within the first two weeks of the term or half term.
