Applications for Reception Places for September 2017
Tyndale Community School has 60 places for children in Reception classes each September for children who turn 5 during the subsequent academic year. For places starting in September 2017, applications open in October 2016 for children born between 1/9/12 and 31/8/13 (inclusive). The deadline for receipt of applications is 15th January 2017. It is important that you make an application by this deadline, but applications are not determined on a first come first served basis. For details of how to make a late application look at our information on Late Applications.
We are part of the Oxfordshire Local Authority’s co-ordinated admission arrangements and applications for places should be made on the Local Authority Common Application Form, either on line or on paper. The Local Authority website contains details of how to apply.
Please see below for how to make a faith-based application.
Admissions Policy for September 2017
We have made some small changes to the wording of our admissions policy for September 2017. We have been through a consultation process with the Local Authority and this consultation is now closed. Click here for our admissions policy.
In Year Admissions
In common with most recently established schools, Tyndale Community School is growing by adding two new Reception classes each year, until we reach a full complement of year groups. By September 2019 we will cater for 4 – 11 year olds. At present we have Reception, Year One, Year Two and Year Three classes.
If you are interested in a place for your child in our current Reception, Year One, Year Two or Year Three classes please contact us to find out about available spaces (contact details above). We are also happy to answer any questions you may have about the application process.
More information about in-year admissions can be found on the Oxfordshire Local Authority website. To visit the website please click here. Applicants for in-year transfers will be required to fill in a School Admissions In-Year Transfer Form which can be sent electronically or by post to the Local Authority. This form is available on the Local Authority website or from the school on request.
Our code number for the School Admissions In-Year Transfer Form is 2008.
If you have a child who will start school in later years we would love to keep you informed of future events such as open days and family fun mornings. You can register your interest by emailing our Family and Community Liaison Leadercarol.email@example.com

Up to 30% of places may be allocated on the basis of the Christian faith. If you wish to apply for a faith-based place there are two supplementary forms to fill in and return to the school. The first (Form A) must be filled in by you, and the second (Form B) must be filled in by your church leader. Please note that if you wish to apply for a faith-based place these forms are required in addition to applying for a place via the Oxfordshire Local Authority’s co-ordinated admission arrangements as detailed above. Please send completed forms to: Family and Community Liaison Leader, Tyndale Community School, William Morris Close, Oxford, OX4 2JX.
